Summary
I walk to find the end of the path, to find the other side of the hill
I am free meditating on a pilgrimage trail or sauntering around London. I walk with Jacinta,
she has her own art of walking, we wait for each other and share.
Art is about freedom
there is no greater freedom than that of the painter in front of his canvas,
of the sculptor with his stones or his steels, that of the walking artist on his path.
“Keep moving if you want to be free”, sang Jon Christopher in 1972
I value a slow and contemplative walk higher than a stressful ride in a motorcar
I experience the joy of anecdotes, chance encounters, and seeing the unexpected.
I stop to look at a tormented tree reaching for the sky or to wonder at a landscape
Jacinta looks at flowers and butterflies and birds. I take photographs or draw a quick sketch.
