Summary
Duomo di Milano in Italy is the Gothic church with the most statues in the world. The middle door is the door of the Blessed Virgin Mary, weighing 37 tons, and it is the earliest completed and most important door in the church. The bronze relief depicts the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The designer of the gate was Lodovico Pogliaghi. From 1895 to 1906, he devoted all his energy to creation and this gate became his most important work.
After 11 years of portraying and casting, this neoclassical gate influenced by new art finally appeared to the public on September 8, 1906, the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the church held a grand opening ceremony on this day. This glamorous copper relief gate is exquisitely carved and breathtaking. It is the world's best copper relief sculpture for churches!
This pencil drawing took me seven months to drew the classic sculpture on paper, so I named this work - Sculpture on Paper.
