JUDY PEARSON

Judy Pearson (née Noakes) born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1955.
I grew up on the Thames Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula and completed my schooling at Tapu Primary School and then Thames High School. After leaving Secondary School I attended Auckland Technical Institute for a year, completing a Senior Business Course. I held the position of Constable in the New Zealand Police as well as various administrative positions within Southern Cross Healthcare, West Coast District Health Board, Sandvik Mining and Construction and Auckland Transport.
My husband and I moved to Kuching on 1 March, 1980. Sarawak has always had a special connection for me as my father worked here for almost 25 years and this is where he met my mother, an English nurse. During MCO a friend of mine in New Zealand suggested that I start doing some artwork. I hadn’t done anything since the age of 14 years as I hadn’t been allowed to continue with art classes from that age. I began experimenting with pen, paper and pencil and now incorporate acrylics and canvas too. As my husband and I have SMM2H, Sarawak is where we want to live for the foreseeable future.
