Melissa Wong Li Tiin

Summary

Coming from an artist family, since young, Melissa has developed a strong passion for arts. After she graduated in Fashion Art & Textile design, she hopped into the fashion industry as a high fashion model. However, her venture into modelling was cut short due to her health problem. She eventually moved back to Sarawak for rehabilitation, while serving as art teacher . She then founded her own event and wedding planning company that operated for four years. She was hit by another round of mental sickness, in which she stopped her business and started her meditation journey.

After a brief period and together with her siblings, they started a chained coffee house in Sarawak. Melissa served as a co-founder , marketing and art director.

In the mid-2020, Melissa decided to pick up her young time dream. She got herself heavily involved in artworkand started selling her paintings.

Painting is a way for her to express creativity and emotions, to find inner peace through colours, and connect with one another. In year 2023, Melissa takes the initial idea of including love shape elements into each of her art pieces and starts creating symbolism expressionism artworks under her own project - “BUT FIRST, LOVE. “ which she believes, the purpose of life is to love & love is the essential foundation of all life, dreams & connection.

Her art journey is also a self-discovery journey. She begin to understand more about her inner-heart and her callings. In year 2024, she starts doing abstract expressionism art & video art which involved in the idea of healing in nature landscape & elements incorporating with her Christianity faith and her art pratices.
