Sebastian Jong Chu Yun

Summary

Sebastian Jong graduated from the School of Civil Engineering. Sebastian started painting since childhood. He restarted his art journey after 13 years away from holding the paint brush. His spirit of painting revived in 2013. It is always a great satisfaction for him to present his artworks that breathe as real as a printed photo with acrylic or oil medium. Besides painting, Sebastian also loves performing art. He is an actor, a stage drama director, and a script writer. In 2018, he discovered the fun of creating art pieces by using the pouring technique and now he is developing his skills on his new creations with the combination of realism and pouring. Beyond his expectation, some of his new creations have even sold to overseas. Sebastian now is actively introducing and conducting the pouring art classes to art lovers, ranging from primary school students to senior citizens and also to the special needs students. Now, he is not only a realism artist but also a pouring art artist.

Sebastian, who is also a HRDC accredited trainer, has conducted team building training via creativity to corporate companies. He is also an art instructor to train the young artists. He joined Sarawak Artists Society in 2014. He is the vice secretary of Sarawak Artists Society for 2015/2016, Vice Treasurer for 2017/2018, Vice President from 2019 till present. Since 2014, Sebastian has participated in most of the exhibitions organized by Sarawak Artists Society and also other exhibitions organized by the local and overseas arts organizations including the “One Road One Belt, Malaysia China Art Exhibition” in Foshan, China. His artworks are in homes and offices in Malaysia and overseas and also a few are collected by Sarawak State Library.
