Summary

Artist Sim is a life member of the International Chinese Society of Arts and Photography (New York), one of the founder members and life member of both the Sarawak Artists Society and Kuching Chung Hua Arts Association. He is also life member of The Calligraphy Society of Malaysia / National Art Gallery and Malaysian Lingnan Art Association. He has showcased his artworks with four solo shows since 1972.  He has participated in numerous joint arts and calligraphy exhibitions held locally and internationally in New York, China, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, National Art Gallery of Malaysia, Sabah and Brunei. He is a strong promoter of arts and has been a judge for various arts, calligraphy, lanterns, and land float competitions since 1970. Sifu Sim is a professional and versatile artist who paints in watercolour, Chinese painting, acrylic, oil, mixed media and calligraphy. He is frequently invited to give demo cum talk in schools and colleges, as well as demonstration in Chinese ink painting and calligraphy during exhibitions and festive seasons. Such is his passion that he continues to tutor school students, adults and art-lovers in painting /calligraphy, using a variety of medias at Kuching Evergreen Art Centre during weekend.

His works are widely collected by worldwide tourists, Sarawak State Library, Government office, art lovers and art collectors. His masterpiece has been published in the special edition for the selected art works from International Chinese artists in Bejing. Sifu Sim has also been featured twice in interviews cum documentary video shooting by both from RTM Kuching and KL in 2008 and 2018 respectively.
