Sim See Hong

Summary

Born in Bintulu in 1939, Sim See Hong grew up in a single parent family after his father passed away during the Japanese Occupation when he was five years old. Later in life, building up his career and family life soon became his priority. Painting was not in his cards until way into his retirement. With the encouragement from his eldest son, he decided to try oil painting and has not stop since. Self-taught, Sim See Hong mostly paint realism. His first artwork was “The Orchid”. The good result gave him confidence to go on doing others. He joined SAS in 2018 and has exhibited his work in a few exhibitions.
