Sylvester Wielding Jussem

Summary

Sylvester Wielding anak Jussem is a Bidayuh artist born in 15 May 1960 Bau, Sarawak. His areas of specialization are drawing illustrations and painting. He has a special interest in research which relates to ethnic arts and cultures. Through his travels, he was exposed to many styles, techniques and cultural influences, which have later influenced the development of his own dialogue and style of painting almost semi-abstract in nature. Currently, Sylvester lectures at the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, Design Technology Program, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) since 2000, and has actively participated in art exhibitions both locally and abroad.

•1985-1987 ─ Masters in Fine Art, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York
•2003 ─ Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning, UNIMAS
