Summary
He was born in 1926, Hopoh, China. As an active member of the local art scene, Chin Kee held the position of Vice-President for the Sarawak Artists Society in its formative years between 1985 and 1990. He later served as advisor to Sarawak Artists Society as well as the Kuching Chung Hua Arts Association.
Some of his works received recognition from Sarawak State Government. He was appointed as the Sole Designer and Artist of the Chinese Dragon carving on the State Museum's Heroes Monument in Kuching. "The Single Artist" demonstration of Chinese Art and Calligraphy was witnessed by the Malaysian Prime Minister and his wife during the opening ceremony of the Sarawak Cultural Village in Kuching.
Chin Kee's masterpieces are collected by the Sarawak Museum, Ministers, Sarawak Shell Bhd., International art collectors, and businessmen.
