A Soft Tongue Breaks the Bone” This mixed media sculpture features 15 air clay tongues, each embedded with different elements—ranging from grass to light bulbs—to reflect the tongue’s power to harm or to heal. As the only organ not attached to bone, the tongue plays a central role in communication and emotion.

Air clay, soft at first and hardening over time, mirrors how our speech can grow sharper with age. This work invites viewers to reflect on how we use our words—with cruelty or with compassion.
